Sorrows and grieve in  Baricho, Kirinyaga  County as Members of The National Police Service Family   and  Member’s of the Rapid Deployment Unit Tact Teams  stood out to give their last respect to the Fallen Rapid Deployment Unit, D- Coy platoon Eleven (11) Commander, Cip Cyrus Githae yesterday 11/11/2021 
The late Officer who until his untimely demise was serving as the Rdu Platoon Eleven (11) commander based within Tana River County felt unwell while on administrative duties at Rdu Headquarters and was rushed to Nairobi South Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition and later passed on.
Throughout his leadership as the Platoon Commander of the Elite Unit,Mr. Githae was passionate in executing his duties as a police officer and through his love and selfless service,Cip Githae became a fatherly figure to many both inside and outside the Police Service as expressed by his fellow Commanders and friends who spoke at the funeral.
Addressing hundreds of mourners at ACK St Peters Church-Baricho ,The Rapid Deployment Unit Commandant AIG Lawrence Owino said that, the National Police Service  community and the Nation at large have lost an icon who was loved by both Members of the public and the Rdu Tact Teams.
While expressing a condolences message from the DIG,APS Mr. G.Noor,The head of the elite Unit commended the Late Officer for Serving the Nation tirelessly during his times of Service and urged all Officer’s to emulate the same.
The send off ceremony was also attended by Members of National Police Service Family , the Rdu Family, Senior NPS Officers from different formations, Locals and Leaders from Kirinyaga County.
Special thanks to the Leadership of CIPU – Kirinyaga County, Jogi Motors-Malindi, Leadership of ACK Baricho parish and the OCS Tarasaa Police Station for your support. As a Family we thank all the National Police Service  Member’s who participated in the occasion under the Leadership of The Rapid Deployment Unit Headquarters and all Rdu Field Formations.
Eternal rest grant upon him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May the soul of our departed Commander, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
