The Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, CBS, OGW, SS, received the Inspector General of the National Police Service Mr Douglas Kanja, MGH, CBS, OGW, to officiate the opening of the Administration Police Service annual conference in Kwale County.
The conference which comes ahead of launching the APS Roadmap to Service delivery revitilization strategy brings together senior commanders who make APS leadership, aims to spur the Service to adapt to the changing needs of the communities, enhance public trust and effective policing.
The IG together with the DIG, emphasized the critical need to strengthen internal accountability in the Police Service and commitment to, not only serve with professionalism but also with passion, diligence and dedication, thereby addressing the security needs and concerns of our communities going forward.
The one-week conference shall address key areas in policing which include; new operational and managerial concepts, emerging security and leadership trends, evaluate the Service’s performance and review it’s service delivery strategies among other objectives.
In his message, the IG underscored the need for officers to continously invest in their professional development to ensure that they possess skills that are necessary to effectively and efficiently perform their duties as law enforcers.
While thanking the officers for their continued good work for our country, the IG urged the officers to ensure that the public gets the best and relevant security services so that they can engage in their day to day activities unimpeded.
